In brief
- As of 11 October 2026, the most expensive smartphone sold with a public price is the Vertu Agent Q Himalaya Alligator Gold & Full Diamond: 99,888.95 euros on the official Vertu boutique.
- At Caviar, the iPhone 18 Pro Palmette in 18-carat gold, limited to three pieces, is listed starting from 85,290 dollars, or 76,540 euros.
- The most expensive phone for sale is not a smartphone: the Vertu Signature Cobra, a keypad model, is listed at 459,198.95 euros.
- The “Falcon Supernova” iPhone at 48.5 million dollars is a price announced in 2014, with no known sale or buyer.
- In standard production, the iPhone 18 Pro Max 2 TB at 3,129 euros is the most expensive for sale in France; the iPhone Duo 2 TB, at 3,839 euros, will surpass it from 23 October 2026.
A 100,000-euro smartphone exists, and it can be ordered online. However, the rankings in circulation mix three worlds: workshop editions actually sold, unique pieces announced at tens of millions without anyone ever having bought them, and standard production models from Apple, Samsung or Huawei, which are now approaching 4,000 euros. This ranking separates them.
All prices were recorded on 11 October 2026 on the official websites of the brands and workshops. No amount is an estimate: when a figure has never been subject to a sale, it is presented as an announcement.

The top 10 luxury editions for sale
Rules of the game: a public price displayed on the house’s website, a smartphone available to order, and a single line per model, in its most expensive finish. Sold-out pieces and keypad phones are excluded. Vertu displays its prices in euros on its French boutique, and they fluctuate by a few euros from one visit to the next; Caviar displays its prices in dollars and euros. Two houses share the top of the ranking: Vertu, which celebrates its 28th anniversary in 2026, and Caviar, whose showroom is in Dubai.
Vertu Agent Q Gold & Full Diamond · 99,888.95 €
The most expensive of the smartphones sold with a public price. The Agent Q, which Vertu presents as a phone controlled by more than 200 artificial intelligence agents, features an Himalaya alligator back, a white gold chassis and a diamond setting. The house says it is offered as a “limited series”, without specifying the number. The “Gold & Diamond” version of the same range is listed at 25,411.95 euros.

Vertu AlphaFold Gold IV & Green Diamond · 81,882.95 €
The first foldable in the ranking. The AlphaFold, with an 8.05-inch internal screen and a 6.53-inch external screen according to the Vertu spec sheet, is dressed in black alligator, gold and green stones. In the same range, the Himalaya Alligator Gold finish starts at 30,056.95 euros.

Caviar Palmette 18K · $85,290
An 18-carat gold case engraved with Art Deco palms, over a hundred hand-set diamonds and an Apple logo set with 58 diamonds, according to Caviar. Only three pieces. The price starts at 85,290 dollars (76,540 euros) for an iPhone 18 Pro 256 GB and rises to 88,290 dollars for an iPhone 18 Pro Max 2 TB. Presented in November 2025 on the iPhone 17 Pro, the model is now mounted on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Caviar Solar · $81,000
The 18-carat gold back is polished like an ingot, with the only decoration being the diamond-set Apple logo. Three pieces, at 81,000 dollars, or 72,690 euros as displayed.

Caviar Quantum 18K and Bitcoin 18K · $78,140
Tied at 78,140 dollars (70,130 euros). The Quantum, in 18-carat rose gold with a geometric pattern, is limited to 19 pieces; Caviar announces 180 grams of gold on the iPhone 18 Pro and 220 grams on the Pro Max. The Bitcoin 18K, with its low-relief cryptographic patterns and the cryptocurrency emblem, has only three pieces.
Vertu Metavertu Max Himalaya Diamond · 50,641.95 €
The pinnacle of the Metavertu Max range, in Himalaya alligator and diamonds. The same range exists for less than 6,000 euros in calf leather: at Vertu, the price difference is almost entirely due to the materials.
Caviar No Time To Die · $50,860
An iPhone 18 Pro Max in titanium that incorporates a real Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, the model worn by Daniel Craig in “No Time To Die”, according to Caviar. Five months of development, fifteen prototypes and seven numbered pieces, at 50,860 dollars (45,640 euros) for 1 TB.
Vertu Metavertu Curve 18K Gold · 41,168.95 €
The Metavertu Curve, with a curved screen, in Himalaya alligator and 18-carat gold, listed from 41,168.95 euros.
Caviar London · $28,340
Big Ben in relief, covered in 24-carat rose gold, with a manual-winding mechanical movement housed in the tower. Ten pieces, at 28,340 dollars (25,440 euros).
Outside of this top 10, Caviar also dresses other brands: a Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design “Gold Dragon” at 14,990 euros, a Galaxy S26 Ultra “Yong” at 14,350 euros and, already, the iPhone Duo, from 12,040 to 16,910 euros. At Goldgenie, which says it has been customising iPhones since 2007, the most expensive piece is the Innovation Edition of the iPhone 18 Pro: solid 18-carat gold back, diamond-set logo, 50 numbered pieces, starting from 15,197 pounds sterling (17,582.93 euros on the workshop’s website). Vertu also lists an Ivertu in 18-carat gold and diamonds at 62,664.95 euros, but it is sold out.

The most expensive one doesn’t even have a touchscreen
The most expensive phone sold today with a public price is a keypad phone. The Vertu Signature Cobra, a limited edition designed with the jeweller Boucheron, is listed at 459,198.95 euros on the Vertu boutique: a gold body entwined with a cobra set with rubies, a keypad mounted on 4.75 carats of ruby bearings and 83 carats of sapphire crystal, according to the house’s spec sheet. In the same Signature family, the gold and diamond model on alligator costs 87,438.95 euros. These are phones with physical buttons, without a touchscreen: they therefore fall outside the smartphone ranking.

Falcon Supernova and other mirages
The name appears in almost every ranking: the iPhone 6 “Falcon Supernova Pink Diamond”, announced in September 2014 by the American company Falcon, the day after the presentation of the iPhone 6. The brand then offered its collection at 32.5 million dollars with a blue diamond, 42.5 million with an orange diamond and 48.5 million with a pink diamond. Twelve years later, no public sale, no buyer confirmed by the brand, no certificate published. The attribution of the phone to a major Indian fortune, often repeated, is based on no confirmation.
The same applies to the iPhone 4 “Diamond Rose” and iPhone 5 “Black Diamond” by British jeweller Stuart Hughes, presented in the early 2010s: the amounts cited vary from 8 to 15 million dollars depending on the reports, and no sale has been documented. A price without a sale, without a buyer and without a document is not a record, it is a communication argument.
The only certified record dates from before the iPhone. According to Guinness World Records, the most expensive mobile phone is a model by the Geneva house GoldVish, sold for 1,000,000 euros at the Millionaire Fair in Cannes on 2 September 2006.
The most expensive standard production smartphones
Without gold or diamonds, major manufacturers have also reached a new milestone. The most expensive standard production smartphone sold in France will be the iPhone Duo 2 TB, at 3,839 euros, from 23 October 2026. The first foldable iPhone, presented by Apple on 9 September, unfolds to a 7.6-inch screen and folds back to a 5.4-inch external screen. It starts at 2,339 euros for 256 GB, and pre-orders will open on Friday 16 October at 2 pm.

In the meantime, the most expensive for sale at Apple is the iPhone 18 Pro Max 2 TB, at 3,129 euros (starting from 1,629 euros for 256 GB), ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro 2 TB at 2,979 euros.

At Samsung France, the peak is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra 1 TB, at 2,799 euros (starting from 2,199 euros), the brand’s first “Ultra” foldable, with an 8-inch main screen and weighing 215 grams. The Galaxy S26 Ultra 1 TB is at 2,169 euros. The Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung’s triple-folding foldable, is sold for 2,899 dollars for 512 GB on the brand’s American site, but has no page on the French site.

Huawei sells its triple-foldable Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design starting from 19,999 yuan and the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design starting from 12,999 yuan, according to its Chinese site. Neither appears in the range presented on Huawei’s French site as of 11 October.

Why an iPhone can cost 85,000 dollars
Three things determine the price. First, the material: Goldgenie announces 100 grams of 18-carat gold on the back of its iPhone 18 Pro Max ICON, Caviar up to 220 grams on the Quantum. Then rarity, with editions of three, seven or ten pieces. Finally, complication, when an Omega watch or a mechanical movement is integrated into the case, a logic found in the ranking of the world’s most expensive watches.
At Caviar and Goldgenie, the electronics remain those of the original iPhone: you pay for the object, not the technology. Goldgenie even warns that wireless charging may no longer work on its custom iPhones, and Caviar only begins manufacturing after full payment. Vertu, conversely, designs its own phones, with its concierge and security services. In both cases, these prices remain far from the auction records that define the luxury hierarchy, starting with the world’s most expensive cars.
