- The figure of 75,000 dollars per night, long reported, is now outdated.

On the corner of Madison Avenue and 77th Street, The Mark hotel rents out what Guinness World Records considers to be the most expensive hotel room in the world. Its penthouse exceeds 100,000 dollars per night. Here is the exact price, what it includes, and how it compares to other record-holding suites.
How much does a night at The Mark Penthouse cost?
The record is dated 22 April 2025. Guinness World Records lists it as “the highest published nightly rate for a hotel room or suite”: 114,767 dollars per night, or 74,717 pounds, taxes included, for the five-bedroom penthouse at The Mark. Breakfast is included. At late September 2026 exchange rates, this represents around 100,000 euros.
This is a rate published by the hotel and not an estimate: this is precisely the condition set by Guinness, which only considers rates displayed by registered and licensed establishments. The amount is a “starting from” price: the hotel confirms the rate depending on the dates and length of stay.

An apartment on the roofs of Manhattan
According to the hotel, it is the largest hotel penthouse in the United States. French interior designer Jacques Grange designed it more like a private residence than a suite: four fireplaces, two bars, a conservatory, a library, a gym equipped by Technogym, a steam room and a cold plunge tub on the terrace. The terrace overlooks Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with an outdoor dining area.
The grand living room remains the signature space: with its 7.9-metre ceilings, it transforms into a ballroom for private receptions. The dining room accommodates twelve guests, served from a chef’s kitchen.

Other suites in the global ranking
In our ranking of the most expensive hotel suites in the world, The Mark is the only certified rate above 100,000 dollars. The Royal Mansion at Atlantis The Royal, in Dubai, was announced at 100,000 dollars per night by hotel management in 2023, without appearing on the property’s website. The Ty Warner Penthouse at Four Seasons New York comes next, at 80,000 dollars per night according to the November 2024 reopening press release. Damien Hirst’s Empathy Suite at the Palms in Las Vegas was launched at 100,000 dollars in 2019, but the hotel no longer displays its price.
The price today
The penthouse cannot be booked like a standard room: requests go through The Mark’s reservations department, which confirms availability and rates. The figure of 75,000 dollars per night, still cited on many websites, dates from before 2024 and no longer matches the published rate. The Guinness record of April 2025 remains, as of 13 October 2026, the most recent and only officially approved benchmark.
