Beiersdorf published its third-quarter results in Hamburg on 27 October 2026. Behind a group still slightly in decline, La Prairie delivered a clear recovery, driven by China and its White Caviar line. The luxury brand of NIVEA’s owner thus confirms the return to growth that began in the spring.
€117 million and +8.5% in the third quarter
From July to September 2026, La Prairie posted sales of €117 million. Organic growth reached +8.5%, nominal growth +10.9%. The first strips out currency and scope effects, the second simply compares reported amounts year on year: the two should not be confused. This rebound puts La Prairie among the encouraging signs in a two-speed luxury market in the third quarter of 2026.
China, the main engine of the recovery
In the speech accompanying the nine-month results, Beiersdorf’s management explains where this rebound came from. In China, La Prairie’s net sales jumped by 28% in the third quarter, supported by both e-commerce and physical stores. The group presents the country as the brand’s main growth driver. A notable result in a market where Chinese shoppers are turning away from conspicuous luxury.
The group highlights the White Caviar line, formulated with the active ingredient Thiamidol, which it presents as the number one brightening collection in China.
How did the brand climb out of the dip?

2026 had started badly. In the first quarter, La Prairie’s sales fell by 14.9% organically, before a return to growth in the second quarter, at +2.2%. The first half thus ended with an organic decline of 6.9%, according to the half-year release of 3 August 2026.
The third-quarter acceleration narrows the gap without closing it yet. Over the first nine months, La Prairie’s net sales total €342 million, down 2.2% organic and 2.0% nominal.
Swiss Pristine, a gateway to La Prairie
In September 2026 the brand launched Swiss Pristine, a new line made up of an essence, a serum and a cream, focused on repairing the skin barrier. Beiersdorf describes it as an entry line into the world of La Prairie, intended to attract younger customers and to widen distribution selectively. The group does not call it entry-level and does not disclose the line’s prices. To see how the brand compares with its rivals, read our selection of the world’s most luxurious anti-ageing skincare.

Double-digit growth for Chantecaille too
La Prairie is not the only brand growing in Beiersdorf’s luxury division. Chantecaille, the group’s other prestige brand, posted double-digit growth in the third quarter, although its revenue was not published. The group speaks of an acceleration across its whole luxury business over the period.
Beiersdorf as a group still slightly down
At group level, La Prairie’s recovery remains an island. Beiersdorf posted sales of €2,362 million in the third quarter, up 0.4% nominal but down 1.3% organic; La Prairie accounts for around 5% of that. NIVEA, including Labello, fell 4.9% organically, hit by disputes with retailers, while the Derma division (Eucerin, Aquaphor) grew by 10.6%.
Beiersdorf, led by Vincent Warnery, confirmed its 2026 guidance: a slight organic sales decline for the group, in the single digits, and an EBIT margin excluding special factors of at least 11.8%.
