Versace has confirmed that Pieter Mulier’s first collection for the house will be an Atelier Versace collection, shown during Paris Haute Couture Week in January 2027. The house’s couture line will thus return to the Paris calendar, more than ten years after its last dedicated show. Neither the day nor the venue of the presentation has been made public.
25 to 28 January 2027, in Paris
The official calendar of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode sets the spring-summer 2027 haute couture week from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 January 2027. It is within this window that Versace has confirmed the presentation of the first Atelier Versace collection designed by Pieter Mulier. The house has not published a press release, and the detailed schedule for the week, with the day and venue of each show, has not been released for Versace.
Pieter Mulier will therefore open his tenure with couture rather than ready-to-wear: his very first collection for Versace will be a haute couture collection.
Atelier Versace, off the runway since 2016

Atelier Versace’s last dedicated haute couture show dates back to July 2016. Yet the line never stopped: it carried on with private commissions and red carpet looks. This is therefore a return to the runway, not the revival of a defunct line.
When Prada Group presented its annual results in March 2026, Lorenzo Bertelli mentioned the relaunch of Atelier Versace and the end of Versace Jeans Couture. At the time, he placed Pieter Mulier’s first collection at the start of 2027: the announced timetable is being kept.
Who is Pieter Mulier?
On 5 February 2026, Prada Group and Versace announced the appointment of Pieter Mulier as Chief Creative Officer of Versace, effective 1 July 2026. He reports to Lorenzo Bertelli, Executive Chairman of Versace. The announcement traces his career: Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Dior and Calvin Klein, then Alaïa, where he had been creative director since 2021.
At Alaïa, the Richemont-owned house now has to plan for life after Mulier, a step covered in our article on the transition at Alaïa.

Why Lorenzo Bertelli chose him
In the appointment announcement, Lorenzo Bertelli explains that Pieter Mulier was identified as the right person for the brand as early as the review of the Versace acquisition. In his view, the designer will know how to enter into “dialogue” with the house’s heritage. The January collection will be the first chance to judge that dialogue on a runway.
A black gown for Nicole Kidman
Before any collection, a first look designed by Pieter Mulier for the house has already been seen in public. Nicole Kidman wore a black lace Atelier Versace gown to the premiere of Practical Magic 2 in Los Angeles in late August 2026. No images of the upcoming collection have been released: the pictures in this article show earlier collections and the house archives.
684 million euros in sales in 2025

Prada Group completed its acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings on 2 December 2025. According to the group’s annual results, Versace generated 684 million euros in revenue in 2025. For 2026, the group expects operating losses and lower sales, linked to the brand’s repositioning. This overhaul is taking place in a mixed market, covered in our review of the luxury market in the third quarter of 2026.
