The Chambre Monégasque de la Mode is accelerating its development to position the Principality among the key dates on the international stylistic calendar. Following the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week Rendez-Vous held from 14 to 16 October 2026, Federica Nardoni Spinetta announced the ambition to deploy two annual editions from 2027. This strategy aims to create a permanent bridge between independent creation, eco-responsible innovation and luxury maisons.
The Monégasque institution has been working for many years to structure the local ecosystem of luxury and fashion design. By extending its calendar of actions, it meets the constant need for exposure for designers while strengthening the economic attractiveness of Monaco. The Principality, already recognised for its global prestige and major events, thus affirms its status as a hub where creativity and ecological imperatives meet every season.
A biannual strategy structured around spring and autumn
Organising one session in the spring and another in the autumn marks a decisive step for the Monégasque ecosystem. The objective stated by the president and founder of the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode is to offer continuous support to designers while providing a platform for exchange on the future of the textile industry. The first autumn edition of the MCFW Rendez-Vous thus alternated collection presentations, professional workshops and thematic round tables.
By aligning with the traditional rhythm of major international fashion capitals such as Paris, Milan, London or New York, Monaco consolidates its visibility with buyers, the specialised press and haute couture enthusiasts. The introduction of a second annual meeting allows for an uninterrupted dialogue between industry players, fostering commercial opportunities and strengthening the reach of initiatives focused on sustainable development.
Spotlight on the Principality’s maisons and designers
The event provided a showcase for young local brands. Among the highlights was the inauguration at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo of the boutique of the young footwear maison, founded by sisters Samantha and Alicia Di Iorio. They had presented their models last April alongside Beach & Cashmere Monaco, a brand created in 2005 by Federica Nardoni Spinetta. For its part, the eyewear label Valtoria opened its showroom-workshop to present its latest designs by designer Gabriela Tarkanyi Maldonado.
The dynamism of the local stylistic scene relies on the complementarity of its players. The territorial roots of these maisons illustrate the artisanal expertise and spirit of innovation that characterise the Principality. From high-end footwear to exceptional accessories, the diversity of the offerings bears witness to the emergence of a true Monégasque fashion identity, driven by demanding designers actively supported by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode.
A strategic anchor at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo
The event also brought together international labels at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo in a pop-up space designed by Vera Facchetti Lifestyle, combining ready-to-wear from the Italian maison Falconeri with second-hand accessories from TheRe, not forgetting the world of haute parfumerie represented by Xerjoff.
An emblematic hotel establishment on the Rock, the Fairmont Monte-Carlo provides a privileged setting for hosting international events related to the world of luxury. Its strategic location by the Mediterranean Sea and near the legendary hairpin bend of the Grand Prix makes it an exceptional venue. The creation of a pop-up store within this hotel encourages cross-encounters between a demanding international clientele and prestigious or emerging brands, marrying classic elegance, circularity and complex olfactory creations.
Environmental commitment and circularity in the luxury sector
The luxury industry is undergoing a profound transformation where the value of a stylistic piece is no longer measured solely by its rarity or aesthetics, but also by its ecological footprint. The Principality of Monaco is fully committed to this ecological transition by positioning eco-responsibility at the centre of its public events. The promotion of initiatives focused on second-hand and reuse within pop-up spaces demonstrates that high-end standards are now perfectly aligned with sustainability and the circular economy.
Sustainable development at the heart of the debates
The challenges of ecological transformation were the subject of targeted discussions during the “Is Fashion Sustainable” round table. This debate brought together Thierry Leviez, director of Pavillon Bosio, who presented elements from his book Théâtres de la Mode, and Runa Ray, an environmentalist designer collaborating with the United Nations and the Prince Albert II Foundation to promote the circular economy in fashion.
This thematic meeting allowed for a crossing of artistic, academic and environmental perspectives. The shared reflections highlighted the absolute necessity of rethinking textile manufacturing processes, resource management and the impact of the global supply chain. The participation of experts committed to international organisations and environmental foundations underlines Monte-Carlo Fashion Week’s desire to go beyond the simple framework of the runway to become a laboratory for concrete and ambitious ideas.
Heading for the 15th edition in spring 2027
The trajectory of Monégasque fashion is now set towards its next major gathering. The 15th edition of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week will be held from 12 to 16 April 2027, before the final implementation of this biannual calendar supplemented by an autumn session.
The announcement of this 15th edition confirms the longevity and power of attraction of an event that has established itself sustainably over the years. Industry professionals and couture maisons already have their eyes turned towards this spring deadline which will inaugurate a new stage in the history of fashion in Monaco. This expanded calendar will further increase the influence of local players and strengthen the international bridges built by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode.
The cultural and economic impact of fashion events in Monaco
The reinforced deployment of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week actively contributes to the cultural influence of the Principality. By bringing together designers from varied backgrounds, figures from haute parfumerie, artisanal eyewear makers as well as experts in eco-responsible ready-to-wear, the Principality affirms its status as a creative epicentre. The succession of presentations, boutique inaugurations and workshops drives a dynamic that goes beyond the clothing sector to touch the entire Monégasque commercial and tourism ecosystem.
