That is the challenge the Art2rue festival is setting out to meet. Between 15 and 25 October, a host of free activities will take over schools, Maisons pour tous, and public squares across the capital of Hérault. “This 9th edition promises to be more ambitious than ever”, promises the city in its press release. With this in mind, the organisers have entrusted the role of patron of the event to Bboy Junior, a prominent figure in breaking and former winner of the TV show La France a un incroyable talent.if(smartInit){didomiNextConsent(45,(function(){Hubvisor(“ready”,null,(function(){sas.cmd.push((function(){sas.render(“76194”)}))}))}))}The festival’s first highlight, a streetball tournament—a variation of basketball—is scheduled at the Lahoucine Zemmouri sports grounds on 17 October. Following the matches, a battle between various DJs will kick off. “More than just a competition, this battle will be an opportunity to share a moment of knowledge exchange centred around mixing, scratching, and hip-hop music culture”, reads the Art2rue brochure. On 18 October, the curious can head to the Maison pour tous Rosa Parks to try their hand at dancing under the guidance of two-time French breaking champion, Campanita. Participants will then face off in a battle under the watchful eye of a professional jury. A graffiti discovery session will round off the day. Hip-hop will also have its place in the festival. At the Maison pour tous François Villon, beginners and more experienced dancers will have the opportunity to engage with breaker Bboy Junior. The champion will give a talk to the participants. The session is set for 21 October. This content cannot be displayed This content cannot be displayed without your consent as it involves the use of cookies placed by its provider.
