  • A total of 70 locations, two-thirds of which are located in the regions, will be accessible to the public.

The LVMH Journées Particulières are preparing to open from 16 to 18 October 2026, offering an unprecedented incursion into the heart of the group’s most confidential workshops. Over three days, the public will have the opportunity to step inside locations usually closed to the public to discover the manufacturing secrets of the greatest French luxury maisons. This autumnal initiative presents itself as a true celebration of tangible and intangible heritage, inviting the curious, enthusiasts and families to explore behind the scenes of a world where excellence and precision guide every daily gesture.

The event has now established itself as an unmissable rendezvous for anyone interested in craftsmanship, the history of industrial techniques and the preservation of manufacturing traditions. By opening its creative spaces in this way, the luxury group allows for a better understanding of manual trades, which are often little known to the general public. From the meticulous crafting of a piece of leather goods to the complex production of a fine wine, each visit promises to lift the veil on rigorous processes that require years of apprenticeship and absolute patience.

The origins of the LVMH Journées Particulières

The origins of the rendezvous for savoir-faire

Created fifteen years ago by Antoine Arnault, this national event was initially conceived as a transparency initiative. Faced with caricatures that sometimes likened high-quality workshops to standardised industrial sites, the group chose to reveal the reality of its production workshops. The original defensive initiative quickly transformed into an annual celebration of craftsmanship and excellence. This strategic choice to open the doors of the manufactures has allowed for a profound change in the collective perception of these trades, putting the human element and the intelligence of the hand back at the centre of the contemporary industrial narrative.

Over the years, this transparency operation has acquired a major cultural dimension. It demonstrates that the modernity of a large group is not incompatible with the safeguarding of ancestral traditions. By showing the workbenches, traditional tools that have sometimes remained unchanged for decades, and the extreme concentration of the artisans, the event highlights the real value hidden behind every creation. This direct dialogue between the creator and the visitor contributes to demystifying luxury while strengthening its cultural and historical roots in modern society.

Behind the scenes of creation: demystifying the workshops of high craftsmanship

The notion of high craftsmanship is based on a subtle alliance between historical heritage and technical innovation. The workshops of these great maisons are not simple production spaces, but places of conservation where jealously guarded manufacturing secrets are passed down. Visiting these sanctuaries of creation allows one to understand how an idea materialises through a demanding process, where there is no room for error. Every tool, every gesture repeated thousands of times by the artisan, bears witness to a constant search for aesthetic and functional perfection.

By inviting the public into the heart of these workspaces, the event highlights the daily lives of passionate professionals. This face-to-face encounter between the visitor and the artisan offers a unique opportunity to observe the meticulousness required to cut leather, assemble a piece of jewellery or inspect the clarity of a wine. These shared moments reveal the profoundly human dimension that characterises these manufactures, far from the clichés of mass automation, by reaffirming the essential role of time and apprenticeship in the creation of exceptional works.

From the bubbles of Champagne to the banks of the Charente

An exceptional journey to the heart of French terroirs

The itinerary proposed this year gives pride of place to the French regions, which house two-thirds of the open sites. In Champagne, Moët & Chandon will exceptionally open the doors of its Fort Chabrol in Épernay, a historic site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This emblematic location, deeply linked to the wine-growing history and agronomic research of the region, symbolises the sacred union between environmental preservation and the art of producing great Champagne wines. Visitors will be able to discover how science and nature collaborate to perpetuate the excellence of these exceptional terroirs.

Further south, in Charente, the maison Hennessy will invite visitors to stroll along the river to raise public awareness of the group’s environmental initiatives, particularly in favour of water preservation. This thematic route illustrates the inseparable link between the quality of spirits production and the protection of local natural ecosystems. The Charente, a historical transport axis and a true ecological lung for the region, serves as the setting for a global reflection on sustainable agriculture, the responsible management of natural resources and the promotion of river heritage.

In Loir-et-Cher, the Louis Vuitton Atelier de l’Abbaye in Vendôme will also welcome visitors to reveal its leather goods savoir-faire. This exceptional site, located within historic buildings carefully restored, perfectly illustrates the desire to reconcile the safeguarding of French architectural heritage with the development of cutting-edge industrial activities. In this former abbey, leather work is carried out in a setting where the history of the stones responds to the nobility of the material, offering a concrete illustration of the revitalisation of territories through the establishment of excellence workshops.

The renewal of French territories through the prism of sustainable luxury

The geographical distribution of this edition bears witness to a strong commitment to the economic and cultural dynamism of the French regions. By establishing its manufactures outside major metropolitan areas, the sector actively contributes to maintaining skilled employment and safeguarding local identities. Terroirs are not only sources of superior quality raw materials, they are also the cradle of communities of artisans whose skills are often passed down from generation to generation, thus participating in the vitality of rural areas and medium-sized towns.

Furthermore, this regional presence is accompanied by a growing concern for sustainability and respect for ecosystems. The initiatives presented during these days, whether it be the responsible management of oak forests for barrel making, the reduction of the carbon footprint of workshops or the meticulous restoration of historical monuments to house modern workspaces, demonstrate that excellence in production can be harmoniously integrated into its natural and social environment.

Parisian excellence from Place Vendôme to the Galerie Dior

The Île-de-France region will host 26 emblematic addresses. Visitors will be able to enter the private mansion of Chaumet, located on the prestigious Place Vendôme, or admire the creations of the Galerie Dior through a guided tour of its haute couture workshops. Entering the world of high jewellery on Place Vendôme allows one to understand the extreme demands linked to working with precious stones and noble metals, while the discovery of the couture workshops highlights the work of the seamstresses and pattern makers who materialise the artistic directors’ sketches into exceptional silhouettes.

The archives of Paris Match magazine will also be unveiled, offering a unique insight into the history of photojournalism and collective visual memory. At the same time, the Jardin d’Acclimatation will offer an illuminated night walk, inspired by its historic inauguration in 1860. This leisure and pleasure park, designed under the Second Empire, thus reconnects with its former splendour and offers a magical experience that blends history, nature and entertainment for the whole family. Depending on the site, access will be either free or by mandatory reservation prior to the event, in order to guarantee optimal visiting conditions and preserve the serenity essential to the work of the workshops.

Transmitting the craft and inspiring vocations

The transmission and promotion of artistic trades

Beyond simply opening to the public, the event pursues an educational and strategic recruitment objective. Faced with the growing lack of interest among younger generations for manual trades, LVMH wishes to promote these careers of excellence. To mark the launch of this edition during an evening at La Samaritaine, 70 specialised artisans will receive an honorary brooch elevating them to the rank of virtuosos of the maison, a distinction aimed at embodying the prestige of these professions behind the scenes. This strong symbolic gesture, organised in the sumptuous setting of this historic Parisian department store, aims to demonstrate that manual trades constitute prestigious and fulfilling paths to professional success.

The transmission of savoir-faire is indeed an essential condition for the survival of these exceptional industries. By showing the passion that drives the companions and artisans, the event aspires to break down the psychological and cultural barriers that sometimes distance students from manual training. Through live demonstrations and privileged exchanges, professionals share their journey, their learning paths and the pride of participating in the creation of works of art. This open approach seeks to spark the interest of future apprentices, who are essential to ensuring the next generation within the manufactures of tomorrow.
