Balnea Spa owns the vast forested grounds where the hotel is located
It has owned the vast forested grounds where the hotel is situated since its beginnings. In April 2020, the company took over operations of the former Beatnik hotel. Since that date, the owners have undertaken the renovation of the existing buildings and plan to eventually double their guest capacity. The establishment set out to renovate its existing buildings to double its capacity and leverage the site to its full potential, according to details provided by the management of marketing and communications.
Minimalist architecture signed by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple
The reception hall and a pavilion housing the 15 new signature rooms were completed at the end of 2025. The hotel façade was also refreshed with wide grey timber slats that blend into the landscape. Nine additional rooms are scheduled to be added this autumn, whilst the historical barn located on the grounds will be transformed to host a long terrace dedicated to various wellness activities.
The warm minimalism of the signature rooms
The overall architectural concept was entrusted to MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, who had previously designed the spa facilities a few years earlier. For this hotel project, the surrounding wooded valley served as the primary source of inspiration. From the lobby onwards, visitors are charmed by warm wooden walls, generous fenestration, and plush contemporary sofas.
The absolute comfort of the new signature rooms
The timber extends into the new signature rooms, conceived as perfect cocoons of tranquility. The signature rooms invite complete disconnection thanks to the intentional absence of televisions. The space stands out with refined details: an alcove featuring a daybed ideal for reading, a premium king-size bed, and a small private outdoor terrace. The bathroom cleverly separates the spaces, with the shower benefiting from a dedicated room equipped with a therapeutic infrared light and Oneka skincare products.
A wild immersion on Montreal’s doorstep
Although the Bromont region is particularly popular and well-frequented by travellers, the estate surprises with its absolute peace. The hotel feels as though it is tucked away deep in the countryside, a peaceful atmosphere preserved by the protected forests of the Mount Gale nature reserve surrounding the property.
A sustainable greenhouse-to-table dining experience
The establishment’s environmental commitment is also reflected through its on-site gardens and organic greenhouse. The estate’s gardens and greenhouse directly supply fresh produce to Lumami restaurant, the spa’s official dining venue, thus guaranteeing ultra-local seasonal cuisine with market-garden accents.

The primary focus of this project is to offer a seamless synergy between accommodation and thermal facilities, transforming the estate into a complete, self-contained getaway destination. Hotel guests enjoy direct access to the spa facilities upon arrival.
