A new chapter for the La Baule seafront

L’Amoria, a new four-star hotel-restaurant located at 26 boulevard Hennecart in La Baule, has just opened its doors on the embankment of the famous seaside resort in Loire-Atlantique. Located in the immediate vicinity of the beach and avenue de Gaulle, the true commercial and nerve centre of the marine city, the establishment succeeds the former hotel Christina, which closed in December 2023 after nearly 60 years of commercial operation. This transformation is part of a global movement to modernise the bay’s hotel stock, aiming to enhance the quality of tourist reception throughout the year.

The bay of La Baule, renowned for its long stretch of fine sand bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, attracts a demanding clientele every season in search of maritime stays and comfort. The establishment of the new hotel in the heart of this privileged coastal stretch provides direct access to the seafront promenades while remaining connected to the city centre activities, a stone’s throw from the sector’s emblematic boutiques and cafes.

A renaissance signed by Dunamis Hospitality

The project is led by the company Dunamis Hospitality, a group based in Rennes that rehabilitates historic addresses in the Grand Ouest. Since its creation in 2018, the company has built a portfolio of around twenty 2 to 4-star hotels in cities such as Rennes, Saint-Brieuc, Vannes or Caen. In La Baule, the group also owns the beach restaurant Lazuli.

The expertise of this regional hotel player is based on the restructuring of buildings benefiting from strategic locations to give them a contemporary breath while enhancing local heritage. The acquisition of the former hotel Christina is fully in line with this dynamic of upgrading the Breton and Loire accommodation fabric, strengthening the group’s presence on the region’s popular coastlines.

Panoramic rooms and spa area

The design of the accommodation was thought out to maximise natural light and the view of the La Baule environment. The south-facing units open directly onto the marine horizons of the bay, while the north-facing rooms offer a soothing perspective on the seaside resort’s emblematic pine canopy. The private outdoor spaces, whether adjusted balconies or larger terraces, allow guests to fully enjoy the marine climate at any time of the day.

A complete rehabilitation and high-end services

The six-storey building has undergone a total rehabilitation to accommodate 43 rooms. The premium sea view category is notably equipped with a balneotherapy bathtub. As a complementary infrastructure, a 140 m² wellness area is located in the hotel basement. It includes a heated indoor pool, a sauna, a hammam, a sensory shower, a herbal tea room, hydrotherapy baths as well as a menu of body and face treatments.

The interior layout combines contemporary materials and soft tones to create a restful atmosphere in perfect harmony with the seaside vocation of the place. The integration of the wellness area on the lower level makes it possible to offer a complete relaxing experience, usable whatever the weather outside, which constitutes a major asset for the establishment’s attractiveness outside the high summer season.

The Madame A restaurant on the ground floor

A true heart of life for the establishment open to the city, the « Madame A » restaurant was designed as a friendly and elegant space. Its strategic position on the ground floor allows for a fluid connection between the embankment promenade and the hotel’s interior spaces. Direct access from the boulevard facilitates the arrival of outside users, secondary residents and locals wishing to take a gourmet break by the sea.

A gourmet and festive offer by the sea

At street level, the « Madame A » restaurant has an outdoor terrace accessible to outside customers. The establishment offers continuous service from breakfast until midnight, relying on local supplies. The menu highlights the house’s own pastry called « Les Petites bauloises », consisting of chouquettes filled with pastry cream and topped with hot chocolate.

The choice of wide opening hours responds to the new expectations of visitors to the coast, who are looking for flexible dining adapted to the rhythms of holidays or weekend getaways. The emphasis on short circuits and regional producers allows for fresh cuisine while promoting the gourmet terroir of Loire-Atlantique and the surrounding areas.

A strengthened anchor in the heart of La Baule tourism

The arrival of this 4-star hotel is part of a context of renewal of tourist infrastructure in the La Baule-Escoublac sector. The immediate proximity of avenue de Gaulle allows residents to fully enjoy local commercial life, artisan shops and traditional markets. The position on boulevard Hennecart offers a direct view of one of the most beautiful bays in Europe, strengthening the address’s positioning among the leading seaside destinations.

By combining modern accommodation services, an area dedicated to fitness and a continuous dining offer, the establishment intends to participate actively in the life of the resort in all seasons. This approach contributes to the economic dynamism of the municipality while offering a contemporary stay alternative to visitors to the Armorican coastline.

Festive inauguration on the embankment

After the temporary interruption of its construction site in the summer of 2025 to regularise planning permissions, the establishment is preparing its official launch. A dance and song show is scheduled for Thursday 29 October 2026 at 7pm on the building’s balconies, bringing together several local artists and actors to mark the opening of the site.

This inaugural event designed as a vertical artistic performance visible from the embankment testifies to the maison’s desire to open its doors by creating a strong link with the inhabitants and walkers of La Baule. The staging of the building’s facades and balconies will celebrate this new architectural and hotel stage on the seafront.
