The voluntary gymnastics association of Bretenoux-Biars, known by the acronym AGVB Bretenoux-Biars, is preparing to launch its new sports season on 7 September 2026 at the Bretenoux sports complex, offering residents of Saint-Laurent-les-Tours and the region a comprehensive programme dedicated to well-being. This local organisation offers tailored support to maintain vitality, strengthen health capital and share convivial moments in a green and adapted setting. Established in the heart of Lot, this structure plays a leading role in local community life, creating valuable links between the different municipalities of the Cère valley.

For many years, AGVB has been committed to promoting a vision of sport focused on health and the pleasure of moving together, far from any pursuit of absolute performance or intensive competition. This inclusive approach allows it to welcome a very diverse public, ranging from teenagers to seniors. Relying on qualified and passionate instructors, the association structures its classes around fundamental concepts such as respect for the body, individual progress and the regularity of physical effort.

A dynamic return for AGVB Bretenoux-Biars

The start of the 2026-2027 sports season promises to be particularly dynamic for AGVB. Leaders and instructors are mobilising to offer a resumption of activity under the best possible conditions. After the summer break, this return represents a key moment for many residents wishing to resume good habits of regular exercise. The association offers a safe and warm environment to facilitate this transition, whether one is a loyal member or registering for the first time.

The teams worked during the summer period to develop a balanced schedule, capable of easily integrating into the daily lives of families and active people in the region. From maintaining flexibility to improving cardiorespiratory endurance, the association ensures that each session brings real physical benefits while acting as a wonderful vehicle for relaxation and reducing daily stress.

Sport-health: a commitment at the heart of the Cère valley

The concept of sport-health finds a concrete expression within AGVB Bretenoux-Biars. The association raises awareness among its members about the importance of moderate but regular physical activity to prevent many ailments and maintain the cardiovascular system. The classes integrate a holistic approach to health where each participant progresses at their own pace without ever rushing their body, thus promoting a serene return to sport. By encouraging the practice of voluntary gymnastics, the organisation actively participates in promoting well-being for all within its local area.

A varied programme of activities for all profiles

From Monday 7 September 2026, lovers of gentle or more intense disciplines will be able to return to training at the dojo of the Bretenoux sports complex. The association offers a particularly varied range of activities, designed to meet everyone’s expectations, regardless of their level and fitness goals.

The weekly schedule is structured around targeted sessions. On Monday at 6.30 pm, dynamic gym kicks off to stimulate the cardiovascular system and strengthen muscles. Tuesday afternoon gives pride of place to stretching at 2 pm, followed by another dynamic gym session at 3.05 pm. Friday morning offers an ideal transition to the weekend with stretching at 8.50 am, fitness gym at 9.50 am, an introduction to Qi Gong at 10.50 am to harmonise body and mind, and finally a fitness gym session at 12.30 pm. This sequence of sessions allows for a judicious alternation of muscle strengthening, deep stretching and breathing techniques for optimal bodily balance.

The art of walking in the heart of the Lot landscapes

For those who prefer the great outdoors and contact with nature, the association also deploys a calendar of outdoor outings. These walking sessions combine physical exercise with the discovery of the surrounding landscapes, promoting total oxygenation in the heart of the Lot countryside.

On Tuesday mornings, from 9 am to 10 am, followers of Acti’March gather on the island of Bourgnatelle for an active and rhythmic walk. In parallel, longer hikes are scheduled each week: a walk of about 10 to 11 kilometres on Monday afternoon, as well as a more accessible walk of about 6 kilometres on Thursday afternoon. These outings perfectly combine sport and conviviality, taking advantage of the valley’s rich natural setting.

A tailored approach for seniors

The practice of adapted physical activity is a determining factor in preserving the autonomy and quality of life of older people. By promoting mobility, joint flexibility and coordination, gymnastics also helps prevent many risks associated with ageing, particularly falls. AGVB designs its sessions for seniors as genuine opportunities for exchange and conviviality, thus effectively combating social isolation while maintaining lasting physical fitness that respects each individual’s physiology.

New additions to the sports season

The major new addition to this 2026-2027 season lies in the integration of an adapted gymnastics class. This offering is specifically aimed at adults and seniors wishing to maintain their autonomy and flexibility through gentle, safe movements that respect each individual’s physiology.

This weekly session will take place on Tuesdays from 4.10 pm to 5 pm in the meeting room of the Bretenoux-Biars sports complex. In order to guarantee high-quality support and personalised attention from the instructor, the size of this class is voluntarily restricted to around a dozen participants. This limited capacity allows for attentive listening and rigorous adjustment of postures to ensure the safety of each participant.

Dynamic disciplines for youth

The youngest are not forgotten in this back-to-school programming, with dedicated activities on Wednesday afternoons. These sessions allow children and teenagers to channel their energy while developing their coordination, confidence and team spirit within a supportive structure.

Children aged 7 to 12 will be able to return to Gymbox sessions from 1.30 pm, a concept that had already met with great success during the past 2025-2026 season. For teenagers aged 12 to 16, the association is introducing a major new feature: an educational kickboxing class, taught from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm at the complex’s dojo. This discipline allows participants to learn controlled striking techniques in a strictly educational and safe environment.

A special meeting at the association festival

The traditional association festival of Bretenoux-Biars is an essential event in local community life at the end of summer. For AGVB, this day is an opportunity to meet residents, present the year’s organisation in detail and answer any logistical or medical questions related to renewing a sports licence. It is also a perfect time for friendly exchanges between the association’s volunteers and the general public, strengthening the structure’s roots within its community.

The Bretenoux-Biars sports complex: a modern facility at the service of well-being

The Bretenoux-Biars sports complex offers ideal infrastructure for the smooth running of the various sessions. Participants can train in a quality environment, notably benefiting from the dojo for dynamic gymnastics, fitness, introductory boxing and Qi Gong activities. The facilities are designed to ensure optimal comfort of practice, both in summer and winter.

Easy access to the premises and the diversity of spaces made available by the municipality allow AGVB to deploy its programme of activities under excellent hygiene and safety conditions, thus promoting a serene and motivating sports experience for all members in the Cère valley.

Registration and practical information

In order to present this programme in detail, meet the instructors and finalise registrations, the members of the association’s committee invite the public to meet at the end of August. Registrations can also be completed online or through direct exchange with the organisers during the first sessions of the September return.

The association will actively participate in the association festival to be held on Sunday 30 August 2026 at the Bretenoux-Biars sports complex. For any requests for additional information or to register, interested parties can contact the association by email at gvbretenouxbiars@outlook.fr or consult the official Facebook page of the voluntary gymnastics association of Bretenoux Biars.
